Brick Blitz

Brick breaker

A brick breaker built like a premium pinball table, with a ball made of light.

Brick Blitz is a brick breaker made to feel like a boutique pinball machine. Bricks of glass, chrome and neon sit on a mirror-black table; a white-hot ball lights them up as it passes and shatters them into tumbling shards. Keep the ball in play with your paddle, steer it with where it lands, and clear every breakable brick to move to the next table.

There are 30 hand-built tables across six themed machines, each introducing something new: armoured bricks that take several hits, explosive bricks that set off chain reactions, steel that never breaks, bricks that slide back and forth, and glass prisms that split your ball in two. Catch power-ups for multi-ball, lasers, a fireball that punches straight through, a wider paddle and more, but dodge the red ones. When the campaign is done, Endless keeps generating fresh tables, and the Daily serves three seeded tables that are the same for everyone.

How to play

  • Move the paddle along the bottom of the table and bounce the ball back up into the bricks. If every ball falls past the paddle you lose a life; lose them all and the run ends.
  • Where the ball meets the paddle decides where it goes: the centre sends it straight up, the edges send it out at a steep angle. Moving the paddle as you hit adds a little extra spin in that direction.
  • Clear every breakable brick to finish the table. Steel bricks never break and don't count. You earn a bonus for each table, plus a time bonus for clearing it quickly.
  • Breaking bricks in a row without the ball touching the paddle builds a combo multiplier, up to ×8. Explosive chains and prisms are the fastest way to build it.

Tips & strategy

  • Aim for the gaps. Getting the ball behind a wall of bricks, so it rattles around between the bricks and the ceiling, clears tables faster than anything else and piles up your multiplier.
  • Use the paddle edges deliberately. A steep angle reaches the side columns; a centre hit is safest when the ball is fast.
  • Hit explosive bricks early. A single explosion can chain across half the table and every brick it takes out counts toward your combo.
  • Not every capsule is a gift: red capsules shrink your paddle or speed up the ball. Let them fall if you can.
  • Catch lets you hold the ball and line up a shot. Move to where you want to aim, then release.
  • The ball speeds up the longer a table lasts. If things get frantic, a Slow capsule or a well-placed Barrier buys you time.

A short history of the genre

Brick breakers grew out of the ball-and-paddle games of the early 1970s. The twist that made the genre was a wall of bricks to knock down one by one, which turned a sports game into a puzzle about angles. Within a decade the format added the ideas still at its heart today: paddles that steer the ball, capsules that fall from broken bricks and grant power-ups, and hand-designed level layouts.

Later generations brought multi-ball, lasers, unbreakable bricks and moving targets, and the genre found a second home on phones, where dragging a paddle with a finger feels natural. Brick Blitz keeps those classic rules and pairs them with modern physics, so the ball never slips through a brick however fast it goes.

FAQ

Is Brick Blitz free?

Yes. Brick Blitz is free to play in your browser with no download or sign-up. The site is supported by unobtrusive ads that never cover the game.

Does it work on phones?

Yes. Drag anywhere on the screen to move the paddle and tap to launch the ball. It plays best in portrait.

Is my campaign progress saved?

Yes. Every table you clear unlocks the next, and your progress is saved in your browser. When you start Campaign you can pick any table you've reached.

What is the Daily mode?

Three procedurally generated tables that are the same for every player on the same day (they change at midnight UTC). Your best result of the day is saved and you can share it.

What do the power-ups do?

M is multi-ball, W widens the paddle, L gives lasers, S slows the ball, C lets you catch it, F makes a fireball that smashes through bricks, + is an extra ball and B is a one-time barrier under the paddle. Red capsules are bad: N narrows the paddle and ! speeds up the ball.

Where are my scores saved?

In your browser on this device. You can export your profile from the Profile page and import it on another device.
