Marble Rush

Tilt-the-world marble platformer

Tilt the world and roll a glass marble across 30 candy courses floating in the sky.

Marble Rush is a tilt-the-world marble platformer. You never push the marble: you tilt the whole course, and gravity does the rest. Ease it along narrow beams, carve through half-pipes, ride rails and moving platforms, launch off kickers over open sky and swing around loops, all with real rolling physics.

Thirty hand-built courses float in five candy-coloured worlds, from the gentle slopes of Sugar Meadow to the twilight gauntlets of Starlight Candy. Every course has a clock with bronze, silver and gold times and a set of gems to collect. Your best medals unlock new marbles: real glass with a candy swirl, mirror chrome, polished marble stone, pearly candy and a nebula marble that glows.

How to play

  • Tilt the world to roll the marble. Tilting forward rolls it away from the camera, tilting sideways rolls it left or right. The camera follows behind the direction you are rolling, so 'forward' is always where you are heading.
  • Reach the glowing goal tube at the end of each course as fast as you can. Beat the bronze, silver or gold time for a medal; the best one you earn on each course is saved.
  • Fall off and you are put back at the last checkpoint arch you rolled through. The clock keeps running, so a careful line is often faster than a reckless one.
  • Pink chevrons are boost pads, round gold buttons raise hidden bridges further along the course, bumpers bounce you away, and moving platforms pause at each end so you can time your crossing.
  • Collect the floating gems. Gems you have ever collected on a course stay collected, and gem totals unlock marbles.

Tips & strategy

  • Small tilts go a long way. The marble keeps its momentum, so start braking (tilting back) well before a tight turn or a narrow beam.
  • Line up before rails and narrow beams. The wide walls just before a rail funnel you in; arriving off-centre is the most common way to fall.
  • Kickers need speed. Use the straight before a jump to build up, and keep the marble centred so you take off square.
  • On moving platforms, roll on while the platform is docked, then wait near its front edge so the roll-off is short.
  • Loops need a fast entry: hold forward down the drop and over the boost pad, and keep holding through the loop.
  • On phones, device tilt is the most natural control. Hold the phone the way that feels comfortable and press Recalibrate: that pose becomes level.

A short history of the genre

Tilting a maze to steer a ball is one of the oldest toy ideas there is: wooden labyrinth boards with holes to avoid have been around for well over a century. Video games picked the idea up in the 1980s with isometric marble races against the clock, and the genre found its modern form around the turn of the millennium, when 3D games let players tilt entire floating stages while a camera followed the ball.

Phones made the idea feel natural again, since you can tilt the device itself. Marble Rush combines both traditions: precise stick and keyboard control, optional device tilt with calibration, and courses built from classic pieces such as ramps, half-pipes, rails, loops and moving platforms, with medals and a fresh daily course for everyone.

FAQ

Is Marble Rush free?

Yes. Marble Rush is free to play in your browser with no download or sign-up. The site is supported by unobtrusive ads that never cover the game.

Does it work on phones?

Yes. Drag anywhere on the screen to tilt, or switch on device tilt with the Tilt button and tilt your phone. On iPhone and iPad the browser asks for motion permission the first time.

How do I unlock courses and marbles?

Finishing a course unlocks the next one. Medals earn points (bronze 1, silver 2, gold 3) and gems add up across courses; reaching the totals shown in the marble picker unlocks Chrome, Marble, Candy and Aurora marbles.

What is the Daily Course?

A course assembled from the game's pieces with a seed that is the same for every player on the same day (it changes at midnight UTC). Your best time of the day is saved and you can share it.

What is Rush mode?

An endless run of generated courses against one clock. Every course you finish adds time, gems add a little more, and the courses get harder as you go. Your score is the number of courses cleared.

Is the physics real?

Yes. The marble is a real rigid body (Rapier physics) with friction, bounce and rolling resistance. Tilting changes the direction of gravity, exactly like tilting a real board.

Where is my progress saved?

In your browser on this device. You can export your profile from the Profile page and import it on another device.
